When an older loved one needs help to stay safe, comfortable, and independent at home, home care services are an excellent solution. But what happens when the caregiver goes home at the end of their shift? Unless the person is receiving around-the-clock care, there are periods of time that they will be on their own and without direct access to assistance.

For many, 24/7, around-the-clock care is just not realistic, preferred, or financially viable. We understand that interruptions in care can lead to anxiousness for family caregivers, and safety concerns for older loved ones. For this reason, we have invested heavily in exploring non-intrusive and effective methods to close these gaps.

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new collaboration with StackCare, and to share how it can elevate the level of care Inspired Home Care can provide to your loved ones!

With SmartCare by StackCare, you get comfort in knowing a loved one has a senior safety product in place that will give them an additional layer of assistance between caregiver visits.

What Is SmartCare and How Does It Work?

You are likely familiar with other types of senior safety products, like cameras and wearable pendants. In contrast to those devices, SmartCare is inconspicuous and won’t impede a family member’s way of life – because they do not need to wear anything at all or be concerned with being recorded on camera. Instead, SmartCare utilizes small, discreetly-situated motion sensors which can be placed around the home. In just a few minutes, the system is functional.

From there, AI learns about the person’s regular activities, routines, and behaviors by collecting data supplied by the motion sensors. Instant notifications are delivered to you and/or our care team to warn of any alterations in motion patterns which may be a cause for concern. For example, if the person’s trips to the restroom are increasing, it could indicate a UTI or some other health concern.

These real-time updates allow for immediate, proactive intervention, to minimize the chance of hospitalizations or the need for the person to face a move to a long-term care facility.

What Are the Advantages of SmartCare?

Possibly the biggest advantage is the peace of mind you will have, knowing the person you love is safe and well. With daily updates, you can feel comfortable knowing that the older adult has had a good night’s sleep and is engaging in normal activities around the home.

Additional benefits include:

  • No batteries to change, cameras, or microphones
  • No sense of intrusion that a camera may cause
  • Around-the-clock access to real-time alerts and insights
  • Nothing the person has to remember to put on or press for help
  • A chat function to easily share information among family members
  • Built-in thermometers to be sure the home temperature is comfortable
  • Privacy protection
  • Simple installation and operation
  • And more

There Are a Variety of Ways to Use SmartCare

We recognize that each person’s needs are unique. That’s why we offer a number of different ways for you to incorporate SmartCare into a loved one’s care regimen:

  • 24/7 monitoring by our senior care experts
